Families of Nigerian Air Men who died in plane crash get N1m each
London, May 18, 2021 (AltAfrica)-The Victims Support Fund Taskforce on COVID-19 has donated one million naira each to families of the seven Nigerian Air Force officers who died in the Abuja plane crash in February.
Presenting the cheques to their families in Abuja, the Chairperson of the task force, Mrs. Toyosi Akerele-Ogunsiji who extolled the contributions of the fallen heroes in enhancing national security, said the gesture was to provide succour to the family members.
Mrs. Akerele-Ogunsiji said those who served the country with their lives deserved to be honoured for their selfless service to their fatherland.
Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Amao, represented by the Director, Policy and Plans, AVM Remigus Ekeh said the force would engrave the contributions of the late officers as a memorial and gave assurance that the entitlements of the victims of the plane crash would be given to their families.
The Chief of Air Staff added that the military was proud of the fallen heroes and would do everything possible to support their families.
Representatives of the families of the deceased Nigerian Air Force officers expressed gratitude to the task force for the intervention.
