London, Jan. 16, 2021 (AltAfrica)-Removal vans have been spotted in White House to signal the beginning of a difficult goodbye, and a stack reminder that no condition is permanent

Difficult goodbye. The end of a turbulent era. Donald Trump waves

A day after Donald Trump made history by being impeached for a second time and less than a week before Joe Biden is inaugurated, packing boxes have appear outside the famous residency

Officials have been spotted carrying off various items, including a framed picture of President Trump meeting with the Chinese President Xi Jinping.

A stuffed bird was also reportedly seen being carried away as was a bust of the 16th President of the US, Abraham Lincoln.

It is understood the bust is not a personal item and will be returned to a museum.

The framed picture of the Chinese and US meeting was also seen being carted out by White House adviser Peter Navarro as he left the West Wing on Wednesday.

A man was also pictured loading a photograph of Donald Trump into the back of a car.

Other images also appeared to show boxes being loaded onto a removal truck which was parked outside the White House.

The photos come ahead of the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden who is set to become the 46th US President on Wednesday.

President Donald Trump now plans to leave Washington on the morning of Inauguration Day after considering a departure on Tuesday, two sources familiar with the matter said on Friday.

Trump, who had already said he will not attend President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration, is planning a ceremonial farewell at Joint Base Andrews, the base outside Washington where Air Force One is headquartered, the sources said.

The farewell could include a 21-gun salute, one source said.

The sources stressed that the plan could change. It was unclear whether Trump would speak on Wednesday.

Trump will then fly on to Palm Beach, Florida, to begin his post-presidency at his Mar-a-Lago club, the sources told Reuters.

He is likely to be in Florida by the time Biden is inaugurated at midday on Wednesday.

A handful of White House aides plan to work for Trump in Palm Beach as the former real estate tycoon works on retaining his clout in the Republican Party.

Some advisers have been urging the president to host Biden for a White House meeting ahead of Inauguration Day, but there has been no sign Trump is willing to do that, an administration official said.

Trump, the only president in US history to be impeached twice, is planning to issue more pardons before leaving, according to sources who added that he has been considering the unprecedented option of pardoning himself.

Lawmakers made history by voting to impeach Donald Trump earlier this week – making him the first President in US history to be impeached twice.

The House voted 232 to 197 to impeach, casting their ballots in the very chamber where rioters forced lawmakers to flee last week.

Liz Cheney, one of 10 Republicans joining Democrats to impeach him for “incitement of insurrection”, said he “summoned this mob, assembled the mob and lit the flame of this attack”

Sources in the Trump camp have now claimed he is “wallowing in self-pity”, enraged that his allies are not defending him.

Not only does he face impeachment in the US Senate, which could see him booted out of office early and banned from standing again, Trump faces increased scrutiny of his financial affairs when he steps down.

Biden is set to be inaugurated next week, amid warnings from the FBI further violence could be on the cards.
