5.5 magnitude of earthquake rocks Egypt
London, June 29, 2020 (AltAfrica)-An earthquake measuring 5.5 magnitude on the Richter scalewas felt in several Egyptian cities on Sunday evening, Egypt’s National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIA) said in a statement.

According to the NRIA, the quake which originated in Turkey at 600 km away from North Marsa Matrouh was felt at 7.43 PM in several Egyptian cities, but no casualties or losses were reported.

Egyptian online news website Ahram reports that a lot of Egyptians reported online that they felt quake in cities like Cairo, Ismailia and Matrouh.
The strongest and powerful earthquake hitting Egypt took place in November, 1995 in the Gulf of Aqaba, hitting also Saudi Arabia, Israel and Jordan with a magnitude of 7.2 on the Richter scale killing 12 people
