Trump calls Nigerian president, pledges more ventilators to Nigeria
London, April 28, 2020 (AltAfrica)-President, Donald Trump on Tuesday pledged more assistance to Nigeria including more ventilators
The US president made the pledge during a call to Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari on phone where the two leaders discussed the rising coronavirus cases in Nigeria and how the US government can help

Minister of Information and Culture , Lai Mohammed disclosed this at the daily ministerial briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.

According to Mohammed, Trump promised to send ventilators to Nigeria.
He stated that the meeting lasted for several minutes and that the discussion between the leaders was centred on Nigeria’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mohammed described the conversation between the presidents as cordial.
“President @MBuhari today had a phone conversation with President Donald Trump, at the request of the American President. The conversation centred on Nigeria’s response to the #COVID19 pandemic”
“During the meeting, President Buhari used the opportunity to brief the American President on the steps that Nigeria is taking to contain the spread of the disease.
“On his part, President Trump assured that the United States stands in solidarity with Nigeria in this difficult time and promised to send ventilators to support the country in its fight against the pandemic,” Mohammed said.
