Nigeria: MAPOLY bags second ITF award in SIWES
London, Dec. 1, 2019 (AltAfrica)-Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta has bagged award as the “best participating institution in the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme, SIWES activities in 2018 Training Year”
Mapoly was honoured by the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Abeokuta Area Office, Ogun State, Nigeria in recognition of the participation of the institution in the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) described as unrivaled
This is the second time MAPOLY is receiving the award.
The award was presented to the Polytechnic at this year’s ITF Interactive Forum held today in Abeokuta where the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. (Mrs.) Noimot Salako, presented a keynote address on “Vocational Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development: A Solution to secured and sustainable future”.
The award was later presented to the Polytechnic by the Director of SIWES, Dr. (Mrs.) Yetunde Lanre-Iyanda
While receiving the award, the Rector Dr. Samson Adeola Odedina thanked all staff for their dedication, commitment and perseverance which he said have made the award possible.
Odedina said the award “is a testimony to the quality of teaching and training at MAPOLY” adding that MAPOLY is back to once again blaze the trail in the technological development of our dear country.
He charged the students to continue to give themselves to quality learning and make themselves employers of labour noting that the beauty of Polytechnic education is ‘do it yourself’
