oldest mother Anatolia_Vertadella gave birth at the age of 101
While the birth may be an Indian record, it is not a world record.
The world record holder, according to the Guinness Book of World Records was Anatolia Vertadella, a 101-year-old Italian woman. She gave birth to a 9-pound baby in 2016 after a controversial ovary transplant widely criticised by medical professionals because of her advanced age.
In India, a woman, Daljinder Kaur believed to be at least 70 years old, gave birth to a son named Arman (meaning “wish” in Hindi) on April 19, 2016. The baby was the first for Kaur and her 79-year-old husband, Mohinder Singh Gill, after nearly five decades of marriage.
“I feel blessed to be able to hold my own baby. I had lost hope of becoming a mother ever,” said Kaur, who underwent two years of IVF treatment and had two failed attempts earlier, cbsnews.com reported then.
The world’s oldest mother was previously believed to be Malegwale Ramokgopa, a woman born in South Africa in 1839 who allegedly gave birth to twins three days after celebrating her 92nd anniversary on October 3, 1931, which made nation-wide headlines at the time.
The Guinness World Records for the oldest mother is Maria del Carmen Bousada Lara (Spain, b. 5 January 1940), who gave birth by caesarean section to twin boys, Christian and Pau, aged 66 years 358 days at the Sant Pau hospital, Barcelona, Spain on 29 December 2006. Maria died in 2009 after being diagnosed with cancer.

She conceived accidentally, having managed to ovulate past her last period.
