75 yr old man shot as gunman opens fire in Norway mosque
London, August 10, 2019 (AltAfrica)-A 75-year-old man has been shot inside a mosque near Norway‘s capital city.
The extent of the victim’s injuries are not known at this time.
A man has been apprehended following the attack near to Oslo, police said.
The suspected shooter at the al-Noor Islamic Centre was described as “a young white man”, the police added.
The victim was a member of the congregation, mosque director Irfan Mushtaq told TV2.
“The man carried two shotgun-like weapons and a pistol. He broke through a glass door and fired shots,” he said.
The Oslo Police Department said on Twitter that the shooting took place Saturday afternoon in Baerum. It said a suspect was in custody and no one else is thought to have been involved.
