Mohammed salah, Saido Mane shortlisted for FIFA best player award 2019
London, July 31, 2019 (AltAfrica)-Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah and Tottenham’s Harry Kane are in the running for the men’s prize in the Best Fifa Football Awards 2019
The two best African players and Champions League winners feature on the 10-man shortlist for the accolade that was scooped up by Luka Modric last year
Mane and Salah, shared the Premier League Golden Boot award, along with Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, as 22 goals saw the Egyptian retain his crown.
Former Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard is also on the 10-strong list that includes Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.
England’s Lucy Bronze and Ellen White are contenders in the women’s category.
The winners will be revealed on 23 September, following a public vote.
Lionesses manager Phil Neville and US head coach Jill Ellis have been nominated as best women’s coach.
Ellis, who this week announced she will step down, guided the US women’s team to back-to-back World Cup titles, while Neville led the Lionesses to a fourth-place finish in France.
English-born Paul Riley is also nominated as the manager of women’s side North Carolina Courage.
Premier League managers Jurgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola and Mauricio Pochettino have been nominated for the best men’s coach award.
