Israeli Uni honours Ex Nigerian finance minister Okonjo-Iweala with honorary PhD
London, May 18, 2019 (AltAfrica)-Nigeria’s former finance minister and head of the economy coordinating team under former President Goodluck Jonathan, Ms Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has been honoured with an Honorary Doctorate of Philosophy degree from Tel Aviv University, Israel

Okonjo Iweala, an economist and international development expert was recognized for her work on economic development, poverty alleviation, transparency and inclusion.

A very proud Okonjo-Iweala happily posted the photos on tweeter on Friday

”Wonderful to receive an Honorary Doctorate of Philosophy degree from Tel Aviv University for my work on Economic Development, Poverty Alleviation, Transparency and Inclusion.”
She sits on the Boards of Standard Chartered Bank, Twitter, Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI), and the African Risk Capacity (ARC).
Previously, Okonjo-Iweala spent a 25-year career at the World Bank as a development economist, rising through the ranks to the No. 2 position of Managing Director, Operations (2007-2011).
She also served two terms as Finance Minister of Nigeria (2003-2006, 2011-2015) under the leadership of President Olusegun Obasanjo and President Goodluck Jonathan respectively
