Two nights of incredible football make it all premier league champions league finals
London, May 8, 2019 (AltAfrica)-Premier League club, Tottenham FC invoked the never say die spirit of Liverpool to produce another incredible night football and knock out young Ajax team to advance to champions league final
The result means that for the second time in eleven years , it would be an all premier league champions league finals in Madrid on June 1 as Tottenham Hotspurs will meet Liverpool.
Tottenham put in a superlative display in the second half, with striker Lucas Moura’s hat trick to knock out cup favourite Ajax.
Ajax had won the first tie 1-0 in London last week and had firmed their position by scoring additional two goals on Wednesday at the Johan Cruijff Arena.
But Tottenham turned the tables in the second half, with Moura scoring two goals in four minutes. He scored the winner in the last minute of additional time, to book Tottenham for their first UEFA Champions League final.
Coach Pochettino fell down and burst into tears of joy. Thanks to Moura who put up a quite astonishing display in Amsterdam.
The last time two Premier League sides contested the Champions League final was Chelsea and Manchester United’s meeting at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow in 2008.
It had been an exceptional year for English sides in Europe with Liverpool being knocked out by Chelsea in the quarter-finals and Arsenal ousted by Man Utd in the semis. Chelsea beat Barcelona in the final four to set up the clash with the Red Devils, but it was United that triumphed in Russia.
