Owode-Yewa killing: Akinlade condoles bereaved monarch, promises to lead protest to customs CG
London, Jan. 24, 2019 (AltAfrica)-The governorship candidate of Allied Peoples Movement, APM in Ogun State, Hon. Abdulkabir Adekunle Akinlade on Wednesday in Owode-Yewa promised to lead protest against killings of innocent souls by men of Nigeria Customs Service in the town and the state as whole to the Comptroller – General of Customs in Abuja.
Hon. Akinlade, who is currently the area in the House of Representatives made the promise while on condolence visit to the town over the killing of innocent souls by men of the Nigeria Customs Service, who went to the town on operation that turned bloody.
At the palace of Olu of Owode-Yewa, Oba Akindele, Triple A as he is popularly call, condoled with the monarch, the bereaved families and the entire town with a promise to present a protest letter to the Comptroller-General of Customs as their representative at the lower chamber.
“This is not acceptable, I will not only lead your protest to the concerned authority, but present a letter of protest to the agency boss in Abuja”, he said.
Going round the affected areas, the governorship hopeful, appealed to the angry youths to stop the fire barricade on the road in order not to disturb those not connected with the ugly incident.
He visited the bereaved, prayed for them with assurance that justice will be done.
he ugly incident has reportedly claimed 4 lives with several others sustaining various degrees of bullet injuries.
Hon. Akinlade was joined on the visit by the APM candidate for the Federal House of Representatives, Ipokia /Egbado South Federal Constituency, Hon Kolawole Lawal Mobolorunduro, the party’s candidate for the State Assembly, Yewa South, Mrs Latifat Bolanle Ajayi and the party candidate for Ipokia state constituency, Mrs Sikirat Ajibola.
