Nigeria’s Super Falcons lift 2018 Women Cup of Nations trophy
London, Dec. 1, 2018 (AltAfrica)-Super Falcons of Nigeria have won the 2018 African Women Cup of Nations after beating the Bayana Bayana of South Africa 4-3
After the final match of the continental tournament lasted into extra time, the female teams ended up playing penalty shoot-out.
Super Falcons won 4-3, after South Africa’s Linda Motlhalo missed a penalty.
Its a dollar rain for the rugged Falcons as NFF has promised them several millions should they win the top prize again
Nigeria and South Africa have been in the final together once – in 2000 when the South Africans hosted but the Nigerians successfully retained the trophy after a 2-0 defeat of the hosts in Johannesburg.
