Nigeria: PDP Senator defects to APC as Senate goes on another two weeks recess
Abuja, October 24, 2018 (AltAfrica)-Barely a month in to their about three month long vacation, Nigeria’s upper legislative chamber, the Senate is proceeding on another two weeks recess
The legislators adjourned plenary on Wednesday till Tuesday, November 6 following a motion to that effect by the Senate Leader, Senator Ahmad Lawan.
The motion seconded by Senator Emmanuel Bwacha (PDP Taraba North),
Before moving the motion, Lawan welcomed Senator Osinaka Chukwu (PDP Rivers West) who just defected to the APC to the ruling party.
Senate President Bukola Saraki, in his remarks, said during the two-week vacation the relevant committees would meet with a view to carrying out oversight functions especially on the implementation of the 2018 federal budget and the recently approved external loan (Eurobond) .
