Nigeria: Police arrest man, 23 for killing another man over N200 beer in Ogun
Abeokuta, October 22, 2018 (AltAfrica)-A 23yr old man, Taiwo Olatokunbo who killed another man over a N200 beer have been arrested by the Nigeria Police, Ogun State Command.
The suspect, according to the state police command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi was arrested following a distress call received by the police at Igbeba Division from one Temitope Adedayo who runs a beer parlour at nos 4, Ijagun road, ijebu ode in the state.
Adedayo reported that at about 15:00hrs on Friday, the suspect came to buy a bottle of a beer worth N200 but refused to pay.
This, according to the complainant led to an argument between her and the suspect consequence upon which the deceased who happened to be another customer intervened and asked the suspect to pay for the beer.
She stated further that the intervention of the deceased infuriated the suspect who broke a bottle and stabbed the victim at the right elbow joint.
Upon the report, the acting DPO of Igbeba Division SP Anah Lawrence led his Anti crime men to the scene where the said Taiwo Olatokunbo was promptly arrested.
The victim was quickly rushed to state hospital Ijebu-Ode for medical attention, but gave up the ghost while receiving treatment.
