Nigeria: Renowned Nigerian Chartered Accountant David Dafinone is dead
London, October 1, 2018 (AltAfrica)-One of Nigeria’s most accomplished chartered accountants, David Dafinone, has passed on at age 91.
A member of the family who confirmed the death to our correspondent, on Sunday said the patriarch of the Dafinone dynasty died in his sleep in Lagos on Sunday around 6 am.
Aside his well known accountancy prowess, he rose to global prominence when Guinness World Records recognised the family of the Sapele-born administrator for producing the largest number of accountants in human history.
His three sons and two daughters are all chartered accountants, together with himself.
He got a publicly-funded scholarship to study public administration at University of Exeter, England, in 1951.
In 1962, he became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales
Dafinone who was a senator for Bendel South during the Nigerian Second Republic was a member of the National Party of Nigeria (NPN)
