Nigeria: Data Analyst, Omoniyi join race to govern Ogun State
London, July 22, 2018 (AltAfrica)-As the race to govern Ogun State come 2019 hots up, another illustrious son of the state from Ogun West Senatorial District has declared his intention to join the race.
The new entrant, Adewale Omonyi, an indigene of Ilaro-Yewa, and Data analyst based in Manchester in United Kingdom while declaring on Saturday in Abeokuta at his party secretariat said, quality health, education, securty and rural development will be his priority if given the mandate.
Omoniyi, who have been consulting with people in the state and indigenes in UK for months before his public declaration under the banner of ANRP revealed at the gathering that, immediately he conceived the idea of running for the state exalted position, he embark on data base of people needs at the rural areas across the state.
“As data analyst, having data base of citizens in the state would enable my government if voted in, to know how many unemployed youths we have in the state. How many old people we will need to take care. How many market, hospital, school we will need to re-build or build. Same with our rural roads”, he said.
Omoniyi also said, the administration of ANRP will give the youths in the state chance to prove their worth through appointment and adequate training.
“We will take youths out of the street by providing them employment and through sporting activities. Also our administration will take care of workers who are the one that will assist us to achieve our aims. We will see to their welfare, make sure they regularly attends developmental training and get their wages as at when dues”, he said.
Agriculture, Omoniyi said will also get priority like education, health and rural development.
On his Vision, Omoniyi said is to make a difference in the lives of every citizen of Ogun State.
This, according to him will be achieved by creating an identity for every citizen and resident of Ogun State, ensuring a one to one relationship between the citizen and the government, ensuring accessibility and transparency, growing the state’s economy, protecting the lives, property, and restoring trust in the Government.
On his Mission as governor, he said, “I will create a wide range of opportunities through effective, efficient and people-oriented Government.
“Provide infrastructure for economic development through partnership and collaboration with corporate/private organizations.
“Protect the health and safety of the public and value transparency, accountability, integrity, and respect for the rights individuals”.
Omoniyi added that, security of the state will be a non negotiable issue, saying, ANRP government in the state will make sure citizens of the state are well protected anywhere in the state. “Security agencies in the state will get maximum support. CCTV will be introduced in our major cities, he said.
The State Chairman of the party, Olusoji Daniel, who was represented by his Vice, Alhaji Olayinka Olanton, while welcoming Omoniyi called on the people of Ogun State to vote for ANRP for better living.
ANRP, he said, if voted into power in the state will not disappoint the electorates, as all nook and cranny in the state will witness development.
Adewale Omoniyi is a selfless patriotic goal-driven and service-oriented citizen of Ogun state. A native, born and bred in Ilaro, Yewa Ogun State, he attended Yewa South LG primary school (then Egbado South) and completed his secondary education at Yewa College Ilaro (then Egbado college).
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics from University of Ilorin, a Master of Science Degree in Statistics from University of Lagos and a master’s in data science from Lancaster University, UK.
Adewale brings with him a wealth of knowledge in analysing, organising as well as proposing and executing detailed solutions to real life situations.
This experience he gained in a lifetime of professionalism as a Trained Data Scientist, a Graduate Statistician and a highly experienced certified SAS Programmer with exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities, acquired during a very successful international career.
Having worked as a Statistician with Datasmith Statistical Consultancy and as a Part time Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Yaba College of Technology, Lagos, He has for the past 10 years, worked as a Consultant with several organisations across Europe.
In a lifetime of meritorious service to humanity, he was called upon to serve as a Special Assistant to the Deputy Governor of Ogun State between May 2003 and April 2007, an assignment he carried out with excellence.
He is also the Founder and the current Chairman of Crystal Hope Foundation, a UK registered charity organisation.
