Ogun 2019: Why Yayi quits Ogun politics
Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi)
By Ajiroba Dapo Oke
Of course, those jubilating are those who think they will benefit from his exit. If that is their thinking I congratulate them and wish them well if only wishes were horses may be we shall soon see their beggars riding on the horse back to the palace.
For people who are having mind of their own we need to ask some pertinent questions … Did Yayi out of his own volition decide to quit at this time when the field is dominated by his players, your answer is best known to you. Was he recalled? Why was he recalled and lots more questions begging for your compelling answers.
Yayi is not a neofyte in political water game and so you should not expect that he will choose to sail his ship towards the muddy water bed when the ship was sailing well on the deep sea. Why do you think he could come to Ogun state and after such huge investment he will ordinarily just withdraw from the race without a compelling reason (s) . I smell rat anyway.
Take it or leave it, the young man was surely one of the sacrifices the leadership of APC in South west has decided to make to reposition the party towards the coming general election. I only will stop at this for now to comment further later when the games are ripe.
To my brothers in Ogun west, I mean those who have reflective thinking among us, I sympathize with you what you are just watching on your screen is a conspiracy to bring us on our kneels once again at the next election (God forbid anyway) . For those of you who has the inner eyes go and trace where the game of conspiracy started from and then add your figures to arrive at the answer. Somebody told him we will fight to finish, but when the fight was about commencing he disappeared from the boxing arena and was found among the orchestra singers on the opposing side…… story for another day.
Senator Adeola, I congratulate you for your bravery, and doggedness and for a good fight. Most importantly, I thank you for putting Ogun west agenda at this high level pedestal with this magnitude of wide spread followers. You have done your best, let’s see how far the celebrants of today will carry the agenda from where you stopped. God has actually used you for a purpose in our aspiration this time. I have conviction that He will not forsake you in your next agenda. Unlike them you are still highly valued and appreciated in your base hence the sky is still your starting point. Let’s watch what we end the storylines soon.
I have never regretted supporting your aspiration and I wish you will have the opportunity one day to tell the doubting Thomases that I supported you for no fees and at no cost not even on your pay roll as they are busy speculating. I simply have done it for personal conviction and belief in you.
I didn’t leave APC, I am still in APC
Above all, All glory and adorations belong to God who had been with us all this while.
In some years back, Senator Solomon Adeola Olamilekan YAYI undoubtedly changed the political atmosphere of Ogun State. It was very tough battle. The incumbent Governor lost mostly all past CHAIRMEN of Local government areas, (not less than 12 out of 20), most former Councillors, some Assembly lawmakers and political functionaries at the grassroots joined Yayi camp. Yayi movement was very formidable. Meetings were on round 236 wards and 20 Local government areas. The astonished part of Yayi project was; most of the supporters were from UPN, PDP, APC, Labour party and others. People and many groups were highly committed to the project. Some of us were from APC. Senator Adeola is in APC like some of us but the incumbent Governor labeled Yayi as enemy. The reason was not far fetched, Yayi succeeded in negotiating the powerful party leaders in Ogun APC from Ward, Level to State level.
Yayi movement had desirable and sizeable number of committed and experienced politicians across 236 wards who could win an election. We were very strategic. We worked day and night, in fact we studied and worked on so many plans. Ipso facto, I acquired more knowledge in politics ever than before. It was not seresere. Yayi had political gurus and resource persons beyond what you saw outside there. He is a confirmed scientific politician who is imbued with tremendous resources, and leadership skills.
I can say that Yayi ambition gave most Osoba loyalists who had already defected to SDP a political lifeline. The Osobas launched back into APC through Tinubu and Yayi. They eventually rushed to Amosun since they could not control the structure of Yayi movement. Osoba succeeded in changing De Democrats name. The leaders of Yayi movement refused to allow “Osoba sope or Baba sope”. I love that. That’s the genesis of our political imbroglio.
Consequently, I swear my God, most politicians had gone spiritually to confirm if Yayi would emerge as the next Governor in 2019. I ascertained that even Yayi enemies also looked out for this. Though I don’t belief in such veracity but I must say this spiritual help or advice of all the camps was high. “Afi ti Omo Yayi yen o ba dije, kinni ju ti gbogbo won lo”. I know some would be nooding their heads. Wallahi…Awon eeyan rin lorin oro Yayi.
Alas! Yayi has returned to Lagos. I enjoyed his politics. He taught many people how politics should be played. Yayi’s respect and high sense of recognition was second to none. Whenever he sighted you, he would call you and smile. He is a great man and leader
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu made Yayi from nobody, to State Assembly member, to House of Representatives member (Chairman of Committee on Public accounts), and Senator of the Federal Republic. I want to use the opportunity to stress it here again that Yayi is from Ogun State. He only started in Lagos State. You can check www.google.com you will know most people in Alimosho are from Yewaland in Ogun State. So, forget about that politics of Tekobo.
It was very hard decision for Yayi to betray Tinubu who made him. Yayi did not afraid of Governor Amosun against what was being spread in some quarters. In fact Yayi had acquired all the necessary things needed for the elections. I marvelled at the plans Yayi team prepared for 2019 election when I was invited to a meeting at a first class hotel in Abeokuta. So, i used to laugh at those who thought they were on mockery mission against Yayi.
Though, I prepared to follow Yayi to anywhere he opted for to realise his ambition come 2019 but Since Yayi didn’t leave APC, I am also with him in APC.
A i se dede ara Aiye, lomu ni ranti ara Orun. I advise the new leadership of Ogun State APC to play good politics and shun politics of hatred. I am garrison commandant who always lead any war. Go back to your position if you were not in my front, I am here to lead you.
