Two top Kenyan politicians survive bridge collapse during selfie
London, May 18, 2018 (AltAfrika)-Two Kenyan politicians have escaped unhurt after a bridge collapsed, according to local media.
Capital FM news site reports that Governor Alfred Mutua of Machakos county and Deputy Governor Joash Maangi of Kisii county were taking a selfie when the incident happened in Kisii, in western Kenya.
There were rushed to hospital aboard an ambulance after a good scare on account of the strong currents emboldened by the heavy rains.
The news has elicited mixed reaction online, coming just a few hours after he was lambasted for ‘county-trotting’ while a bridge in his backyard, developed cracks.
It is unclear what caused the collapse
