Nigeria: Ogun Police arrests two for killing neighbour
Abeokuta, May 16, 2018 (AltAfrika)-Nigeria Police, Ogun State Command has arrested two men for killing their neighour and stole his Bajaj motorcycle.
The suspects, 35 years old Patrick Udom, a native of Akwa-Ibom State and James Roland, 25, from Delta State, were arrested following a complaint by the elder brother of the victim one Moses Utuede who reported that his younger brother, Happy Patrick left home around 7:00am of 15th of May 2018 and was yet to return with his motorcycle.
According according to the police spokesperson, ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, on the strength of the report, the DPO of the area, Superintendent Jaiye Richard detailed detectives to embark on full scale investigation in order to unravel the mystery behind the sudden disappearance of the victim.
Their investigation later revealed that the victim was last seen with Patrick Udom and he was promptly arrested.
After a thorough investigation, the said Patrick Udom confessed to have killed the victim with the assistance of Roland James.
He stated further that the victim who lived in the same community of Imodi-Imosan with the suspects was killed because they wanted to steal his motorcycle which they actually did after killing him.
The body of the deceased which was concealed in a sack and threw in a nearby bush has been recovered.
Also recovered from them were two cutlasses used to kill the deceased, one hammer and a digger.
Meanwhile the State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliysasu has ordered that the case be transferred to Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence for discrete investigation and prosecution of the suspects.
