Abuja, May 8, 2018 (AltAfrika)-Nigeria’s Senate President Bukola Saraki and House of Representatives Speaker Yakubu Dogara have ruled out the possibility of passing the 2018 budget this week as earlier promised.
Addressing State House correspondents after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday, Saraki said they hoped the budget would be laid this week and passed next week.
Saraki said the meeting was at the behest of Buhari who wanted to brief them on his trip to the United States as well as on the budget.
Saraki said they also talked about the recent invasion of the Senate, which he said was of concern to the legislature.
The Senate President said Buhari showed great concern and assured that action would be taken to investigate the incident.
