Nigeria Police declare Senator Dino Malaye wanted
London, March 28, 2018 (AltAfrika)-The problem between the Kogi State Police Command in Nigeria has declared the lawmaker representing the Kogi West Senatorial District, Dino Melaye, has taken a dramatic turn with the police declaring the embattled lawmaker wanted.
Also, the Police on Wednesday confirmed the escape from custody of two suspects arrested and paraded last week for allegedly working for the senator and the son of a former governor of Kogi State, Mohammed Audu.
Addressing newsmen on Wednesday in Lokoja, the state capital, the Commissioner of Police, Ali Janga said the duo have been placed on Interpol watch list.
Recalled that the embattled senator had last week petitioned United nations and many world leaders alleging threat to his life in a plot between the Nigerian Police and Kogi state government
In the petition also addressed to the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris , Melaye alleged that there was a plan to murder him “extra-judicially” by his “political enemies” in collusion with men of the Kogi State Police Command.
Melaye, who is Chairman, Senate Committee on Federal Capital Territory, filed the petitions through his lawyers, Messrs Ricky Tarfa & Co.
The lawmaker sought the intervention of the IG, members of the international community and and global human rights bodies to save him from the “wilful, intentional harassment, oppression, political victimisation and threat to life.”
He said, “As things stand, I live each day in constant and reasonable fear for my life, looking over my shoulders and being harassed by the named politicians.
