Ekiti: 21 firemen on advancement training course

The Governor of Ekiti State in the south-west of Nigeria, Mr Ayodele Fayose has approved a conversion/advancement course for 21 firemen in the State.
The State Head of Service (HoS), Dr. Gbenga Faseluka made this known in Ado Ekiti while declaring open a 6-weeks intensive training for the affected firemen.
The HoS who spoke through the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Establishment and Training, Mr. Sesan Alabi explained that the programme would build their capacity for the imminent conversion from the Firemen cadre to Superintendent cadre.
Dr. Faseluka said that the development would serve as motivation to firemen that had hitherto been stagnant on a grade level for a very long time.
Faseluka added that the training would boost the proficiency and manoeuvring skills of the fire-fighters to enable them take right decisions promptly, stressing that the development would also give fresh hope and encouragement to public servants in the sector.
Describing the Governor’s approval as a display of the commitment of the present administration to training and retraining as well as welfare of workers, the Head of Service charged the beneficiaries to reciprocate government’s efforts by living up to their responsibilities and making dedication to duty and hard work their watchwords.
