Nigerian Army killed 10 Herdsmen, Arrest 6
Nigerian Army Troops of 101 Special Forces Battalion on Excercise Ayem Akpatuma (Cat Race) deployed at Numan Local Government Area of Adamawa State to curb the herdsmen attacked on people on Tuesday killed 10 suspected herdsmen, while 6 were arrested.
Military sources told alternativeafrika.com. that the troop on responding to a distress call that Gwamba village was under attack by herdsmen on the morning of Tuesday 27 went to the village but, before they could reached their the herdsmen has set the village on fire.
The troops, our source said trailed the herdsmen and arrested 6 of them at Garigiji village while trying to escape.
There was resistance from the herdsmen with sporadic shooting and the combat ready soldiers had to engage them
During the cross fire 10 of the herdsmen were killed while 6 were arrested.
Items recovered from them include, one AK 47 rifle, 41 rounds of 7.62mm special, one locally made rifle with 25 cartridges, one cutlass, looted clothes and one motorcycle.
