Nigeria: Osun Government unites 13 Libya Returnees with Families

Thirteen (13), returnees from Libya, who are indigenes of the State of Osun in the South-West of Nigeria have been officially reunited with their respective family members.
The handing over was performed on behalf of the governor by the Commissioner for Special Duties, Mr. Oguntola Mudasiru Toogun at the farewell ceremony held at Heritage Hotel, Oshogbo, the state capital.
The governor thanked the relevant agencies especially Osun State Emergency Management Agency (OSEMA), Ministry of Health, National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Person (NAPTIP), Osun State Police Command, Immigration as well as the Department Of State Security Service (DSS).
Aregbesola therefore urged the returnees to comport themselves, behave well and align themselves to the society when they get back to their different destinations, just as he advised them to avail themselves of the different empowerment opportunities which abound in the state.
He also advised the parents and guardians of the returnees to embrace and accord them love, care and affection which they need at this material time.
The governor thereafter handed over five thousand naira (N5000) to each returnee for transportation to their various homes with a view to recalling them for proper integration at the appropriate time .
Earlier in his welcome address, the General manager, OSEMA,TPL Olanipekun Olanrewaju represented by the Director of Operation, Engineer Akin Adetuberu, thanked the Governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola for the hospitality extended to the second batch of the returnees since their arrival in the state.
Speaking on behalf of the returnees, Mrs Aminat Ibrahim, who was full of gratitude to God for saving them from the trauma and inhuman treatment suffered in Libya, appreciated the Governor for his fatherly role and welfare package given to them since their arrival.
She therefore appealed to the government to integrate them into the empowerment programs of the government to enable them settle down properly and become financially self-reliant.
