Nigeria: Fuel Laden Tanker Crushes 4 to death in Jos

Jos, Nigeria. Feb. 15, 2018 (AltAfrika)-Tragedy struck Wednesday night in Jos, the capital city of Plateau State in the North Central Axis of Nigeria when an articulate truck carrying diesel killed four people and destroyed five vehicles.
The sad incident, according to the state Police Public Relations Officer, Terna Tyopev, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), happened at the Mararaba Jama’a in Kuru, Jos South Local Government Area of the state.
Tyopev, who confirmed the story to the newsmen in Jos on Thursday, said the accident occurred the driver of the trailer lost control as a result of brake failure whichled to the heavily loaded vehicle running into five smaller vehicles at the scene and killing four persons in the process.
He explained that two persons died on the spot, while two others died on their way to the hospital where they were eventually confirmed dead.
Tyopev’s words: “A trailer carrying diesel to Bauchi ran into five vehicles and killed four persons at Mararaba Jama’a.
And preliminary investigations indicated that the break of the vehicle failed and the driver who is alone in the vehicle lost control of it.”
