Yakubu Dogara. Speaker Nigerian Lower Chamber

Abuja, Nigeria. Dec. 19, 2017 (AltAfrika)–Peoples Democratic Party members are currently protesting at the House of Representatives over the defection of their party member, Mr. Raphael Igbokwe, to the All Progressives Congress.

Igbokwe, who is an indigene of Imo State, first came to the House in 2011.

PDP members hurriedly walked out in protest after Speaker, Mr. Yakubu Dogara, approved of the defection.

PDP members had maintained that based on the recent decision of the Supreme Court, the party was not facing any division.

Imo State Governor, Mr. Rochas Okorocha, was present during the defection of Igbokwe at the session.

Igbokwe declared that he had since joined the APC in January when there was a leadership crisis in the PDP.
