Libya detention love story and the child of destiny
Lagos, Nigeria. Dec. 10, 2017 (AltAfrika)-This is no ordinary story. Its a story with a rare silver lining amid the tales of horror recounted by newly-returned Nigerian migrants from Libya Mabel Emmanuel and Steven Ekhiator met and started a family in a Libyan detention centre, having failed to make the crossing to Europe.
This week they were flown home to Nigeria with their baby boy-David, a child of destiny.
Mabel recounted how the love story began “They kidnapped me in a place called Sabha, that’s when I met my husband. He bailed me out, it was last year and we fell in love,” Emmanuel said.
