Abductors of Nigerian Politician Demand N80m Ransom
A former member of the Senate in Nigeria, Senator Ayo Arise kidnapped recently

London, Dec. 5, 2017 (AltAfrika)-Abductors of former member of the Senate in Nigeria, Senator Ayo Arise are demanding for 80 million naira as ransom for his release. Arise was senator between 2007 and 2011 Arise, when he represented Ekiti North Senatorial District. He is also believed to be nursing an ambition to govern his state through the next year’s governorship eelection.
A party source claimed he was abducted on his way from Ekiti home state, after an event, to Abuja, the country’s political capital in the early hours of Monday.
Police spokesman in the victim’s home state of Ekiti, the south-west of the country, Adeyemi Ademola told newsmen that the unknown abductors, on Sunday evening whisked away Arise, a senior member of the Nigerian ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), in the southwest region of the country along with his driver.
Meanwhile, the abductors are said to have contacted their victim’s family from who they demanded for N80 million ransom to set him free.
A source close to the family confided in our reporter that, “the abuctors have contacted us and demanded N80m ransome,” saying, “we are working round the clock to secure his release.”
