Zimbabwe’s incoming leader Emmerson Mnangagwa has addressed an excited crowd in Harare, pledging to boost the country’s economy and create jobs.

Mr Mnangagwa flew back to Zimbabwe following the resignation of long-term leader President Robert Mugabe, who had sacked him as vice-president.

State TV says Mr Mnangagwa has returned to take charge of the country.
