Cairo, Nov. 14, 2017 (AltAfrika)-EgyptAir Airlines Co. is poised to expand its fleet with a flurry of deals for long-range and short-haul aircraft, including a $2.2 billion order for Bombardier Inc’s C Series jets.
Already, the Airline announced today that it has signed a letter of intent for that purpose.
“EgyptAir has signed a letter of intent for 12 CS300 aircraft, and will take options on a further 12,” the statement added.
The deal was inked at the ongoing Dubai Airshow.
Bombardier and EgyptAir said they hoped to finalise the deal before the end of 2017.
“We undertook a thorough evaluation process of our fleet and realized that the CS300 would fit perfectly into our business plans and growth strategy,” EgyptAir’s chairman Safwat Musallam said.
He added that the new partnership with Bombardier emphasised the future vision for the Middle East and Africa, and will fulfil the market demands.
