The rise of African-Chinese Marriages

London, Oct. 20, 2017 (AltAfrika)-China has arguably become Africa’s largest trade partner, and recently gone further to promise an impressive $60bn (£40bn) in assistance and loans to boost development of the continent.
Yet the relationship is not simply about new roads, mines and military power. Traders from across Africa now live and work in China, while tens of thousands of Chinese nationals have moved in the opposite direction.
One area of such deeper relationship is inter marriage. In China, parts of the southern city of Guangzhou have become a melting pot of Chinese and African cultures. The number of marriages between African immigrants and local Chinese has been on a steady rise. CCTV’s Audrey Siek reported
