Ghana’s Expensive Tertiary Education
Expensive Education :Here is how much residents on University of Ghana pay per semester
Did you know that some international students, residential fees for an academic year could be as high as worth a Corolla?
Ghana’s premier university, the University of Ghana and other tertiary institutions have recently come under extreme criticism because of incessant increase in student fees and charges across academic years.
This has led to several cries by students for government to slash fees to remedy the high surges that has made higher pursuance of education almost impossible.
Recent amongst such efforts was a social media campaign #FeesMustFall, which was successful in calling out government to intervene on behalf of the students.
Yet, some population of University of Ghana students seem unperturbed by any such increment, as residential fees of some halls continue to rise. One such groups is the residents of University of Ghana bourgeois establishment, the African Union Hall.
Formerly an unofficial hall until it was assimilated as one of the new halls to help accommodate students, the residence facility managed by the Ghana Hostels Limited would pass the most expensive hostel facility in the country.
Here is a list of the expected charges for the hall for the 2017/2018 academic year.
