Qatari flight paths rerouted by Gulf crisis
Flights departing and arriving at the Qatari capital of Doha continue to be disrupted by the diplomatic rift between Qatar and its Gulf neighbours. Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt all closed their airspace to Qatar Airways flights on June 5, 2017. Since then, Qatar Airways has resumed flights over the reopened international airspace over Bahrain and the UAE.
Iranian airspace now supports major air-traffic flow for many destinations within the Middle East. Since the blockade, Qatar Airways has opened several new routes including direct flights to Dublin, Nice, Skopje, Sohar and Prague.
